Scammers target people looking for jobs, scholarships, grants and travel. These warning signs apply everywhere — including messages that claim to come from PFD.
Fake jobs
- You're asked to pay for training, a "processing fee", uniforms, medicals or a visa to secure the job.
- An offer arrives without any interview, or the salary is far above normal.
- Communication only happens on personal messaging apps or free email addresses.
Fake scholarships & grants
- You must pay an "application", "release" or "clearance" fee to receive money.
- You "won" something you never applied for.
- You're asked for bank login details, PINs or card numbers.
Fake agents & visa offers
- "Guaranteed visa", "100% approval" or "inside contacts at the embassy".
- Requests to pay into personal accounts, or no official receipts.
- Offers of fake documents, bank statements or certificates — using these can lead to bans and prosecution.
PFD will never ask you to pay to be selected for an opportunity, ask for your card PIN or passwords, or contact you from a personal number asking for payment. PFD payments only happen on this website, with a receipt in My PFD.
If you've been targeted
Stop contact, keep the evidence, contact your bank immediately if you paid, report it to the relevant authorities, and tell us so we can warn others.
